About KUER

KUER is a non-commercial public radio station licensed to the University of Utah, a 501(C) 3 organization. KUER has a staff of 18 full-time radio professionals.

Our Mission Statement

We enrich the lives of people throughout our listening area with a signature blend of news, information and entertainment in an unbiased, non-commercial context. In so doing we represent an invaluable connection between the University of Utah and the greater community; an ongoing source of service and support to community organizations; and, for our staff, a satisfying place to work, learn and grow.

Where the Money Comes From

The majority of our funding, 71%, comes from individual listener contributions, support from local businesses, foundations, and revenues derived from KUER sponsored special events. Our term for this category of support is "listener sensitive revenues"; the greater our audience, the more revenue we receive.

The remainder of our support comes from the University of Utah, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), and much smaller miscellaneous sources.
